Why I Teach
After a (hectic and sometimes unhealthy) chunk of time in the city of Boston, I finally decided life was unmanageable - work stress, lifestyle, all of it - it was time to make a major life change. This revelation came thanks to stopping drinking and embarking on a more steady and serious dive into yoga. I determined that in order for my whole life to feel like I felt in and after a yoga class, I would have to make yoga a foundational block for a life shift. I immersed myself in practicing yoga asana, and also incorporated vipassana meditation practice into my life, and things began to evolve.
The life shift inadvertently led me out of the city and into the foothills of the Berkshires. Once here, I decided to pursue my 200 hour teacher training in Bhava Flow yoga with Tracy Donahue. The Bhava Flow style was a vinyasa based flow practice strongly influenced by both the Jivamukti and Kripalu yoga styles.
Now I teach yoga while striving to make my whole life "yoga." In doing so, I feel liberated from stress and anxiety - the cornerstones of an unhealthy life. Because of my own transformation, I firmly believe in the inherent power of all humans to transform themselves for the better, and am grateful to be able to offer up the opportunity for others to access positivity and compassionate living with through yoga.
